As reported, Juventus defeated Sampdoria 1-0 as visitors and defending champions of the Italian soccer league on Saturday afternoon. The lone goal was scored by Tevez, who was the biggest addition to the Juve team this summer.
Juventus launched the Serie A season to win the title for a third time in a row. Chances are high as most of the team is intact with Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez added to the squad.
The goal made by Carloz Tevez against Sampdoria was not an impressive one, but it did show that the Argentinian can come through, especially in the first game of the season.
Carlos Tevez has shown to Juve that it doesn’t take much time to warm up.
Sampdoria on the other hand did not control the ball as much or have as many shots as Juventus did, even being the host of the match.
Sampdoria had a goal annulled for being offsides, and had a red card handed towards the end of the game. Many bad things were working against Sampdoria on Saturday.
AC Milan loses to Verona
The other Serie A game played on Saturday was between AC Milan and Verona.
As reported, Verona, as the home team, defeated AC Milan 2-1. Luca Toni scored both goals for Verona, as Andrea Pirlo scored the only goal for Milan.
This could be the upset of the opening weekend of the Italian soccer league. Also, Verona won the game by coming from behind.
