Carlos Danger Got Two Votes

October 5, 2013

If you don't know about Carlos Danger, you probably weren't paying close attention to the politics in the Big Apple. The New York City Democratic mayoral primary votes are in and were counted. Not unexpectedly, Anthony Weiner did not win. A little unexpectedly, his alter ego - Carlos Danger - got a couple write in votes! Being a New York election, maybe this isn't as surprising as it sounds at first.

According to the New York City Board of Elections, two people wrote in the Carlos Danger name and cast their vote. The name was what he used when he sent sexually explicit photos to women - lots of different women. After getting caught he confessed and said he was sorry and wouldn't do it again. Then he was caught with his pants down - again. And yet he still stuck in the race, saying he would make a great Mayor.
Other Write-In Votes

To be fair, Carlos Danger isn't the only name that was written in. Here's a look at some of the others.

Bill Clinton also received two votes.
David Dinkins, former Mayor of New York City, also received one vote.
Noam Chomsky also got a single write-in vote.
Michael Bloomberg got five write-in votes - with different spellings of his name.
Perhaps most surprisingly, Fiorello Henry LaGuardia, a famous NYC Mayor also got one vote. The strange thing is that he's been dead since 1947.

As you probably know by now, Bill de Blasio won the primary with 282,344 votes - quite a few more than Carlos Danger and Anthony Weiner combined.
What Next for Weiner?

Many people are wondering what's next for the infamous Weiner. Will he try to run in politics again? Will his wife leave him? Will he keep sending pictures of his junk to younger women? Why on Earth did he come up with the Carlos Danger name? It's a little silly, but so is his real name, so maybe that had something to do with it. One thing is certain - Mr. Carlos Danger needs to think fast if he wants to capitalize on his fame.

If Anthony Weiner is out there reading this, he should probably invest in a resume builder so that he can get back out there to try to repair some of the damage he's done. Even if he's not looking for a job, it might be a good time to find a new one. With the publicity behind his run for the Democratic party waning with each day that passes, Carlos Danger may sink to the bottom of the public's memory banks without him being able to capitalize the controversy at all. That would be a shame. Hold on, I'm getting a text message …
