Caringi drafted by Montreal Impact

The future just keeps getting brighter for Baltimore Bohemians standout Pete Caringi. After winning the PDL Golden Boot award last season with a league-leading 16 goals, and earning Young Player of the Year honors, the UMBC grad now has a chance to play in America's highest top professional league.

Tuesday, the Montreal Impact of MLS drafted Caringi in the third round (48th overall) of the league's annual SuperDraft.

Coaches and scouts at the league's player combine had plenty of positive things to say about the former Bohemian and Retriever standout. According to MLSsoccer.com, one noted, “He's the type of goalscorer who translates to the next level." Another said, "He's a dangerous guy in the box, and there aren't enough of those guys in this country."

Montreal finished fifth in the Eastern Conference last season, losing 3-0 to the Houston Dynamo in the East knockout round of the MLS playoffs.
