Caring for a family member who has cancer can take it's toll, emotionally, physically, mentally and financially. But there is help. Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-Texas Medical Center (TMC) invites patients and caregivers to join a class from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 7 to learn about and enhance the cancer care experience.
Robert J. Amato, D.O., chief of oncology at Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-TMC and professor and director in the division of oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School will be hosting this one day event. The class is designed to help patients and caregivers as they deal with a variety of care concerns, both their own and their family members as well as provide an in-depth look at the origin, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Leading physicians and oncology specialists affiliated with Memorial Hermann Cancer Center –TMC and UTHealth Medical School will give an overview of the personalized care they provide and details on the role of pathology, radiology, surgery, radiation therapy and systemic therapeutics during treatment.
This educational event is complimentary to registered guests and will be held at the Hermann Pavilion Conference Center at 6411 Fannin Street, Houston, TX 77030 and includes breakfast and lunch.
