The 2013 National League Championship series kicks off tonight from St. Louis, Missouri between the LA Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals with the winner of this best-of-seven series moving on to face either the Detroit Tigers or Boston Red Sox in the 2013 World Series.
According to oddsmaker Jim Feist on Oct. 11, the Dodgers are the favorite to win the 2013 ALCS at -145 with the comeback on St. Louis at +120.
Just a little over 90 days ago the Dodgers couldn’t get out of their own way. LA slumped through the first two months of the season and their fans had to be wondering how the team could be so bad after it had made so many improvements.
Fast forward to late June and early July, and no one in the league has been hotter than LA.
These guys are stacked from top to bottom and with pitchers like Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke Dodger fans have high hopes for a World Series title.
The St. Louis Cardinals also have World Series dreams in their head.
This team just keeps winning. Even after losing star power like Albert Pujols, the Cardinals organization just keeps rolling on.
After knocking off the Pirates in the first round, St. Louis has the home field advantage for the NLCS and it may prove to be vital in the end.
This series should, and probably will go the distance. If that's the case, I see St. Louis moving on to the 2013 World Series.
Pick: St. Louis
