The games in on Fox Sports Midwest at noon today. After 2 rough outings, expect the Cardinals to come out swinging. According to Jenifer Langosch, Mike Matheny wasn't happy with the last few games. "Even though we're in Spring Training, we're still talking about an urgency, we're still talking about a level of expectation of how we want to play the game," said Matheny. "There are positives through individuals, but when you have such an ugly beating, it's hard to focus on them very long."

Arch City Sports has a rundown of players that have been cut over the last two days. There was no surprise that Angel Castro (RHP), Mike O’Neill (OF) and Rafael Ortega (OF) were reassigned to Triple A; none should really see MLB time this year. Kurt Heyer (RHP), Boone Whiting (RHP), Patrick Wisdom (3B), Carson Kelly (C), Casey Rasmus (C), Cody Stanley (C) and Marco Gonzales (LHP) were also reassigned to minor league camp; all need more experience before they’ll be considered for the Majors. These demotions leave 37 players in Major League camp and mean that guys are going to start stretching out.

The posters at Gateway Redbirds discuss the Top 30 Cardinal prospects from Baseball America. The players are listed, but not any of the scouting reports (for subscription only). I agree with a lot of the players being on the list, but the order definitely needs some work; my list will be published in the next few weeks.
