Here is the Cardinals lineup for today in Fort Myers courtesy of Derrick Goold; the team is facing the Red Sox, but could be rained out.

  • 2B Kolten Wong
  • LF Jon Jay
  • 3B Dan Descalso
  • DH Matt Adams
  • 1B Xavier Scruggs
  • RF Shane Robinson
  • CF Peter Bourjos
  • C Tony Cruz
  • SS Pete Kozma
  • SP Shelby Miller

No word on scheduled pitchers; Kevin Siegrist and Sam Freeman are expected to travel. Goold also notes that Miller will face the team he should have faced in October; there were many questions as to why Miller didn’t pitch in the World Series. While people were outraged and there was no explanation given, it was later revealed that Miller was experiencing a little shoulder discomfort during September and the team didn’t want to take a chance with the pitcher.

Congrats to Pat Neshek and his wife; they welcomed Hoyt Robert Neshek to the world last week. The pitcher has been given a leave from the Cardinals that Goold says “will not hamper” his chance to make the team.

MLB Trade Rumors looks at the free agent spending per team from this off-season. The Cardinals rank 10th overall; while they didn’t sign many guys (3 – Jhonny Peralta, Mark Ellis, Aledmys Diaz), they gave out a large contract to Peralta. They ranked 12th for average annual value; they were below average for that. They were tied for 15th in the amount of players they signed and tied for 9th for years given out.

Spring run differential watch: -11
