The team is staying in the Orlando area today facing the Braves; most of the players from yesterday traveled back to Jupiter last night with the new guys coming this morning. Here is today’s lineup courtesy of Derrick Goold:

  • CF Peter Bourjos
  • 2B Daniel Descalso
  • SS Jhonny Peralta
  • RF Allen Craig
  • 1B Matt Adams
  • RF Shane Robinson
  • 3B Scott Moore
  • C Tony Cruz
  • SP Joe Kelly

Today marks the first day without the DH; teams normally let their hitters get extra at bats by using the DH early in the spring. Now, the pitchers get their chance to take some live cuts.

Cardinal70 kicks off the Living Cardinal Tournament for March. Check out the site and get your votes in for your favorite Cardinal. Willie McGee is a #2 seed, which makes this writer happy.

The MLB Nation looked at the NL Central and concluded that the division will remain competitive, but won’t be as good as they were in 2013. While regression is possible, the Cardinals, Pirates and Reds all didn’t change too drastically; the Brewers got better with the addition of Matt Garza. Still, it’s the Cardinals’ division to lose; they didn’t lose much and addressed their biggest need – shortstop.

Kyle McClellan might not be a Cardinal any more, but he’s still from St. Louis. had a great article about the righty visiting Haiti and the impact it had on him. It’s one of those feel good stories in baseball. Running a half marathon is tough, so I commend him for doing it.
