For auto aficionados, the Saturday Nite Classic Car Cruise is a must see. Whether you’re looking for hot cars or a cool root beer float, one thing for sure is that Old Town Kissimmee has plenty of American attitude.
There’s something happening seven days a week, but the main attraction is the Saturday Nite Classic Car Cruise when Old Town welcomes dozens of classic cars and hot rods.
The cars begin to arrive shortly after 1:00pm every Saturday afternoon and the expansive parking area allows visitors to get up close to the cars, just don’t touch! Take only photos, please.
The Car Cruise, where all the cars drive down the main boulevard, occurs at 8:30pm. Live music on Saturday is provided by an oldies band playing classic hits from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
For those not familiar with Kissimmee, it’s only a few miles west of Lake Buena Vista. Old Town is only one mile from the Gaylord Palms Resort and less than six miles from Walt Disney World and Epcot.
First opened in 1986, Old Town is an homage to Americana of the 1950, 60s and early 70s. But there are a few throwbacks to earlier eras too. For example, there’s a bar and grill decorated like a old west saloon, a wild west rifle arcade, and a portrait gallery with costumes covering many eras from cowboys to pirates to gangsters. Old Town also features thrill rides such as roller coasters, a zip line, rock climbing, go-carts, bumper cars and a Ferris wheel.
