Starting next Saturday, January 19, skiers and boarders from the greater Boston area and Salem New Hampshire can get to ski and ride Pats Peak in southern New Hampshire without the need to drive a car. Continuing a program from last year, the deal includes the ride, and lift ticket and more, making access inexpensive and time saving.
The Deal
The deal is that for a fee of $65 you, and your skis, get to ride from any of four locations in Boston and southern New Hampshire. When you get to Pats Peak you get a Saturday Night Pay-One-Price (POP) Ticket that includes a Night Lift Ticket for skiing from 3 to 10 PM and a snow tubing ticket good from 5 to 10 pm. Between the hours of 4 to 6 pm you are also entitled to get lesson tips from their professional ski staff, If you don’t have your own equipment, don’t worry. This deal also includes rental equipment and entertainment in the base lodge. All of this for only $65!

The bus gets to Pats Peak in Henniker, New Hampshire, at about 2:30, just enough time to pick up rental equipment and grab a sandwich before hitting the slopes. This schedule for the bus gives riders about 7 hours of time on the mountain, just about enough time for anyone. The return bus leaves Pats at 9:30pm, heading back in reverse order.

The mountain, the trails and snowmaking
2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Pats peak. The mountain has a vertical of 710 feet and its 23 trails and 7 glades areas offer a nice range of trails for all experience levels. Pats was one of the first ski areas in the state to introduce snow making and they have continued to keep pace with improvements ever since. It does not really matter if there is no snow in Boston, Pats has 100% snow making using 370 snow guns and 42 fan guns.
