Capturing fall photos of your pets

Fall is a great time to get outdoor pictures of your pets.  Here are a few ideas to get you started.

  1. Before you rake up all those leaves, pose your dog with them under a tree.  The bright colored trees are especially nice for backgrounds.  Similarly, a horse in the pasture showing the beautiful trees in the background makes a lovely picture.
  2. Take advantage of natural light.  This time of year the sun is not as harsh.  Early morning or late afternoon light is very flattering.
  3. Visit your local park, such as Freedom Park, for some great places to take photographs.  Click here for a listing of Charlotte area parks.
  4. Don't forget those action shots.  Catch you dog retrieving a ball, catching a frisbee or your cat rummaging through the leaves.  These images capture your pets personality and often become the images you cherish years later.

Don't forget to bring rewards such as treats or a favorite toy.  Keep the time short and fun for your pet. Happy Shooting!
