Capricorn Forecast for January

See also

Although not the last sign of the astrological year, Capricorn, the Sea Goat, holds the unique calendar position of ushering out the current year and opening the door to the year ahead. As such, children of Capricorn find themselves in the position of having one foot in the present and one in the future.

Capricorn is symbolized by both the Sea Goat and a land-based mountain goat. This duality is a reflection of the myth where Pricus, the father of all Sea Goats, continually lost his children to the land where, once they came ashore, they grew legs and became regular goats. Realizing that he couldn’t control their fate, Pricus (an immortal) begged Chronos , the god of Time, to let him die. Instead, Pricus was allowed to live forever in the stars, as the constellation Capricorn so that he could still see his land-based offspring no matter where they were.
