Capriati arrest warrant reports are an "over exaggeration," claims her lawyer. On Mar. 8, 2013, TMZ reported that Jennifer Capriati was allegedly facing a potential arrest warrant for physically assaulting her former boyfriend, but a lawyer for the athlete quickly issued a statement refuting the report.
Quoting Gossip Extra, TMZ reported that the North Palm Beach Police Department was seeking the Capriati arrest warrant after she was accused of allegedly punching Ivan Brannan multiple times in the chest. They also reported that Brannan's attempts to obtain a restraining order against Capriati were denied after he claimed she called his place of employment in excess of 100 times in a single day.
The attorney's statement contained the following clarification on the Capriati arrest warrant rumors:
"There is no arrest warrant for Jennifer Capriati. The case between Ms. Capriati and Mr. Ivan Brannan has not yet been assigned in Palm Beach County and has not been reviewed. The current facts being circulated by Mr. Brannan are an over exaggeration and the police report is one-sided in Mr. Brannan’s favor since they failed to get Ms. Capriati’s side of the story."
