According to WTHR Indianapolis on Thursday, the lockdown of the US Capitol Building in Washington DC was lifted shortly after 3 p.m. The Capitol Building was on lockdown after reports of shots being fired nearby.
According to early reports, after a woman in a car tried ramming at a checkpoint at the White House, officers chased the woman to the Capitol Building. Shots were fired and the woman driving the car may have been injured along with a police officer NBC reported.
Workers were ordered to shelter-in-place.
At this time, it is unknown if shots were actually fired.
The Senate and House are currently in session Thursday to try working out a deal that would end the government shutdown.
