Capital Region weather forecast: Unsettled weather lingers into Monday (Video)

Upper level low pressure continues to sit and spin over northern Maine this morning. Disturbances rotating around this large upper level circulation will bring periods of light snow and snow showers to the region through the day today. A repeat of the same general weather conditions is expected tomorrow, with periods of light snow and/or snow showers as the upper level system moves only slightly. Gradual clearing is expected later Monday night and into Tuesday, as high pressure over southern Canada droops southward and slowly begins to erode the persistent cloud cover and dreary conditions the region has experienced for the past few days.

A major storm system is forecast to pass well south of the region during the midweek period, as the high pressure area remains dominant over our region. As the week draws to a close, the ridge of high pressure sags to our south and east, which looks to provide a moderation in temperatures to above normal levels.
