COMMUNITY THREADS QUILT SHOW AT CAPITAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Hartford, CT - Capital Community College, along with other area partners, is sponsoring a city-wide quilt exhibition called Community Threads. Coordinated by Community Health Services (CHS), the largest community health center in Hartford, the project was the brainchild of Dr. Sedrick Rawlins, an honorary board member at CHS. Initially Rawlins came up with the idea to brighten up the health center, but it quickly evolved into a project aimed at celebrating the culture of quilting and spreading a message of love, patience and warmth throughout the city.

Quilts created by local quilting circles and artists from Hartford and other cities will be on display at Capital in the college’s Conrad L. Mallett Gallery and other locations around the city through the end of February. Visit www.community-threads.com for the list of other exhibitions in the area.

Gallery Hours at Capital are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

Saturdays 9am-3pm.
