One of the finer experiences on Cape Cod one can have is riding the Cape Cod Central Railroad on one of their Elegant Dinner trains. Not only does it hearken back to the romance of a by-gone era, but you can enjoy a five-course gourmet meal served on a crisp white linen by a friendly and attentive staff, aboard an elegant, climate controlled, vintage dining car.
As you embark from Hyannis Station in downtown Hyannis to the Cape Cod Village of Buzzard’s Bay, you may want to start with a cocktail fitting of such a journey: the Cape Cod Crush.
To make a Cape Cod Crush, according to Webtender.com, add two scoops of ice to a blender, then pour 2 ½ ounces of Southern Comfort. Add cranberry juice to the desired potency of the drink. Blend and then serve in a 10-ounce high ball glass.
The Cape Cod Railroad’s Elegant Dinner train departs Hyannis station at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday evenings in the fall. The round trip takes about three hours.
