According to a report today from VG 24/7, Capcom Vancouver producer Mike Jones said his feelings were hurt when it was suggested that Xbox One exclusive launch title Dead Rising 3 would have a poor frame rate after its preview at Gamesom.

Whether being glib or not, Jones said the Rising Dead 3 development team was taken aback by the outrage by the low frame rate footage at Gamescom but assured gamers that the title isn’t finished, and it’s currently being optimized.

“That’s the last thing you do, once it’s complete and you have all the world built, all the missions built and everything in there, then you start optimizing,” Jones said. “Then you start getting the frame rate up there, getting the performance up there.”

Jones said people have noticed the difference even as early as last week’s Tokyo Game Show. He said it’s similar content to what was shown at Gamescom, and people acknowledge that Capcom was indeed not lying about improving frame rate for Dead Rising 3.

“… People who saw it at Gamescom and saw it at Tokyo Game Show were like, ‘Oh s***, they weren’t lying. They actually did optimize everything, and the frame rate is totally solid now,’ Jones said. “And we’re like, ‘See? We’re not done. We’re still working on it. Give us a break. There’s two more months (until) we come out. We’re human beings too. We have feelings too.’”

Jones said there game is looking better and better each day, and gamers don’t understand how much work the developer is doing to ready Dead Rising 3 for the next-gen platform Xbox One.

“We re-wrote our entire engine for Xbox One, and then we were getting new development s***, and new information about the hardware, and we were working with Microsoft trying to optimize everything and it is insane what our development team has been able to do,” Jones said.

“We’ve just been thrilled working with Microsoft and how our team has risen to the challenge to make the biggest, most ambitious Dead Rising yet.”

Dead Rising 3 launches exclusively for the Xbox One when the console hits shelves in the U.S. and 12 other markets on Nov. 22.
