According to the Canadian Press, Eddie Lack made 18 saves for his second career shutout Sunday night as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames 2-0.

Lack, who was subbing in for the injured Roberto Luongo, was flawless for the Canucks who continue to play very strong defensive minded hockey under coach John Tortorella.

The Canucks meanwhile got a first period goal from Jannik Hansen and a third period goal from Mike Santorelli.

Hansen, who scored with forty seconds left in the opening period, found himself wide open down the wing and beat Flames goaltender Reto Berra.

With the win, the Canucks improve to 23-11-6 and the Flames drop to 14-19-6. The Flames have now lost two straight games and will next entertain the Philadelphia Flyers on New Year's Eve. Note the start time is 7:00 p.m. New Year's Eve games have historically been an hour earlier than normal, but not this year.
