Do you enjoy classical music but feel intimidated about going to a “formal” concert? Does getting all “gussied up” not appeal to you? Well, now you have no excuse.
The Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Canton Symphony Chorus will be performing at the next “Aultman PrimeTime/Chesapeake Energy Casual Concerts”. The performances are scheduled for Thursday March 14 at 1:00 p.m. and Friday March 15 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cable Recital Hall at the Cultural Center for the Arts located at 1001 Market Avenue North (right next to the Canton Memorial Civic Center).
These concerts feature a relaxed atmosphere in which the audience and the performers are casually dressed. The Cable Recital Hall is an intimate venue with the musicians introducing each work. The one hour performance concludes with a reception following.
With Rachel Waddell (Canton Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor) and Dr. Britt Cooper (Canton Symphony Chorus Director) at the helm of their respective groups the program will feature the works of Antonio Salieri (Temperts di Mare), Eric Whitacre (Water Night), Morten Lauridsen (Lux Aeterna) and Cleveland Institute of Music composer Matt Smith (the world premier of Lacuna).
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.
