A 32-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly shooting his brother-in-law at a Canton home.
Still, it was unclear what prompted the argument that led to the Wednesday afternoon shooting.
Mr. Heriberto Munoz-Juarez was arrested at his home at 205 Country Carpet Lane and charged with aggravated assault, according to the Canton Police Department.
Around 2:20 p.m., officers responded to a home on Lakeview Street after getting a call about a shooting following a family argument, police spokesman Mr. Pacer Cordry said.
Officers found the victim, Mr. Hector Hernandez, with a gunshot wound to the upper chest, Mr. Cordry said.
The 30-year-old was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he remained in stable condition after having surgery, Mr. Cordry said.
They also found and questioned other family members who were at the home at the time of the shooting, but it was unclear if any of them witnessed the crime.
Mr. Munoz-Juarez was arrested without incident and transported to the Cherokee County jail, Mr. Cordry said.
