Charge receives draft pick in exchange for sending rights to Selby
The Canton Charge has announced that they have acquired a second round draft pick in the 2013 NDA D-League Draft from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for the rights to guard Josh Selby. Following Selby’s playing in the required minimum ten games for the Charge this season, Canton held his rights.
This gives the Charge a total of nine choices in the Development League Draft for 2013, holding seven of their eight original picks along with Fort Wayne’s first round choice and Maine’s second round choice. The Charge relinquished their third round pick to Fort Wayne in a trade early in the season.
While originally on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers and appearing in eleven games with the Charge, Selby averaged 15.3 points on a .350 shooting average with 6.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 32.9 minutes per game. The Charge obtained his rights with him signing a D-League contract after he was waived by the Cavaliers on March 3
