Canon T5i (700D) vs. T4i (650D): new camera no better than the old one

Canon has just announced the latest member of its popular Digital Rebel line, the Rebel T5i, also known as the 700D in some markets. The latest Rebel, announced along with a new lens, the EF-S 18-55 IS STM, is being billed as the most-capable video dSLR in its price range. Well, with a new camera on the horizon, a question arises: how much better is the T5i than the T4i?

Obviously, the T5i does not offer any on-paper improvements over the T4i. The single question here is whether Canon managed to boost the performance in video mode, especially concerning the AF, which was hyped-up only to fall flat with the T4i. In the original press release, Canon puts a lot of emphasis on video capability.
