Come out on October 2, 2010 for the "Canoe in Color" event on the Shiawassee River in Holly, Michigan at Waterworks Park.
Paddle among the beautiful fall colors as you slide past wetlands, forests, marshes, fens and open vistas. Canoes available for rent along with shuttle service between start and finish sites.

The Shiawassee River offers tremendous scenery along with mutiple twists and turns, offering fun for both the novice paddle and experienced kayaker or canoeists. The trip will take around 3 -4 hours and covers 7 miles. Wearing your lifevest aka PFD's will be required.

START - 1:00 in the afternoon - October 2, 2010

PUT-IN (start)

TAKE-OUT (finish)

- Strom Park -
299 South East Street, Fenton,MI
near the East Street Bridge.

Heavner Canoes will be on site offering rentals and shuttle service.

North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy will co-sponsor this event.

Dress accordingly for October weather in Michigan, especially if you get wet. Synthetics generally work better than cotton for activities on or around water.
