The complete 2011-12 schedule for the Canisius College women's basketball program has been released. The Golden Grffins will play 14 home games, including six doubleheaders in the Koessler Athletic Center with the Canisius College men's basketball team.
Canisius starts MAAC play on the road at Siena (Jan. 2) and then takes on six-time defending league champion Marist (Jan. 4). The Golden Griffins return home to host Saint Peter's (Jan. 7) and Iona (Jan. 9). The Griffs will travel to the New York City area on the next two weekends, facing Manhattan (Jan. 13), Fairfield (Jan. 15) and Iona (Jan. 22). In between those games is a Battle of the Bridge doubleheader in the Koessler Athletic Center against Niagara on Jan. 19.
After the game against Iona, Canisius will play two more doubleheaders, hosting Loyola (Jan. 27) and Rider (Jan. 29). The Griffs then play four straight road games, including a Feb. 2 game at Loyola, the second meeting in seven days, and then playing at rival Niagara two days later in the Gallagher Center. Canisius closes out the road schedule against Rider (Feb. 10) and Saint Peter's (Feb. 12).
Canisius concludes the regular season schedule with four home games, starting with a Feb. 17 game against Marist. The Griffs play Fairfield on Feb. 19, and then host Manhattan (Feb. 24) and Siena (Feb. 26). The Golden Griffins open their schedule in the Koessler Athletic Center for the second consecutive year as Canisius hosts local rival St. Bonaventure on Monday, Nov. 14. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
