Candle in the wind: Is Megan Fox obsessed with Marilyn Monroe?

Megan Denise Fox was born May 16, 1986 in Oak Ridge, TN. The secret city was originally built for the Manhattan Project which developed the first atomic bomb. From this interesting background Fox has bloomed into a household name. Yet she still has a side that seems almost fragile. This is in reference to her attachment with Marilyn Monroe. She is Fox's muse, and was one of the first people she ever saw on television "like, literally moments after I was born. Every time I heard her voice growing up I always would cry. I wouldn't know why when I was younger but had my own theories. I've just always empathized with her."

Fox empathized with Monroe enough to have a tattoo of the pinup girl on her arm. “She’s a piece of artwork to me. I committed to having her face on my arm for the rest of my life, so I have to be a pretty big fan.” She also said: “Not in the sense that I ever want to emulate her. I just have a connection that I had from childhood. It’s what you’re exposed to and what makes sense to you when you’re a kid. I got it done after the first Transformers.”

On July 31, 2008 Fox was seen walking around Ventura Blvd in Van Nuys, CA with Kassius Green (6 ½), son of Brian Austin Green and ex-fiancée. She was carrying a book titled “Goddess: The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.” Monroe had a difficult time with her stardom and lived a troubled life due to her insecurities. Fox says: “I grew up craving the spotlight and once it happened I immediately recoiled. It just always seemed really glamorous. As a child you think everyone who's famous is very wealthy and powerful. I thought my internal issues would be solved and I would be this really confident person. And I'm not.” She doesn't have confidence in her abilities: “I think one day I could be a very good actress. But so far, I haven't done anything.”

Just like Monroe, Fox seems unable to handle the label of being a sex symbol. “If you know how to take control of being a sex symbol, then it can be powerful. But I have no idea how to handle it yet, how to deal with it.” She also lamented: “I think all women in Hollywood are known as sex symbols. That's what our purpose is in this business. You're merchandised, you're a product. You're sold and it's based on sex. But that's okay. I think women should be empowered by that, not degraded.”

Also she is setting herself up for failure by applying body art to be rebellious in her own way: “Every time I get a tattoo, it’s a little f-you to anyone who tells me not to. It’s weird to be part of Hollywood, which tries to control every aspect of people, from what they say to the color of their hair. And I like the way getting a tattoo feels. If I’m depressed, it’s nice to get one and deal with the pain. I have one all the way down to my ribs. It hurt, but it felt good–like twisting a loose tooth. I’m not kidding when I say that if I ever lose a role because of my tattoos, I’ll quit Hollywood and go to work at Costco.” And: “I’m going to sleeve my right arm. I’m not sure what I’m going to get, but it’ll be a big piece of artwork from my shoulder to my elbow. You know, Ewan McGregor has a half- sleeve. People don’t even know. It’s an extra 30 minutes in the makeup chair. So what?” Monroe also tried to be a rebel by dating a president and posing nude in magazine's.

On August 4th, 2009 men’s lifestyle magazines called for a media blackout/boycott for Fox claiming a fear that she was becoming over-exposed. On that same day, back in 1962, Marilyn Monroe died from a drug overdose. Will Megan Fox become a candle in the wind, too?

It's the 4th now? I thought it was the 5th?
Guess Marilyn wasn't the only ditzow who couldn't get it together and make up her mind.
"Did you ever have to make up your mind
To pick up on one and leave the other behind
It's not often easy and not often kind
Did you ever have to make up your mind

Did you ever have to finally decide
Say yes to one and let the other one ride
There's so many changes and tears you must hide
Did you ever have to finally decide"
