Candice Glover gave a soulful and stirring performance during the sudden death round of "American Idol" Wednesday.
Performing a rendition of "Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin, Glover earned a standing ovation from Keith Urban.
"Baby that was beautiful. I gotta say if song choice was an important thing, that was a great song choice. There's just something about your voice. The way you sing. You're a natural singer. I loved it," said Urban.
Touched by the performance, Nicki Minaj said Glover was born to do this.
"I think you were definitely born to do this. You clearly have one of the strongest voices in the competition. It's so powerful and you know that you are that person. The confidence sets you apart," said Minaj.
Looking back to her audition last year, Randy Jackson noted just how much Candice Glover has grown and how she is more confident.
"You are one of my favorites. I think you've grown. You now believe that you belong here. That was really good," said Jackson.
Rounding out the panel, Mariah Carey agreed.
"I definitely agree that you are a bona fide singer and that's what this competition is about. Very nice darling. Very nice," said Carey.
After watching additional performances, the judges deliberated and chose to keep Candice Glover in the competition.
Do you think they made the right decision?
