Candice Bergen will take on a new role as Robin Williams’ wife in “A Friggin Christmas Miracle,” produced by Sycamore Pictures. TheWrap was privy to an exclusive interview with Tom Rice of Sycamore Pictures, who stated the upcoming comedy is the tale of a dysfunctional family making their way through Christmas. Bergen will play Donna Mitchler, of the Wisconsin based family.
“A Friggin Christmas Miracle” is penned by Phil Johnston.
Joel McHale will play Donna’s son, Boyd, who forgets to bring his gifts to the family gathering. To make it right, he travels with his father, Mitch (Robin Williams) and his brother Nelson (Clark Duke), to get gifts.
Clark Duke has recently joined the cast. His character was in basic training, where he falls off a truck in basic training. Even though he has brain damage from the fall, he speaks Farsi fluently.
The Russo Brothers are producing the film with Rice and Tristram Shapeero will helm the project.
The production of “A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle” has begun in Atlanta.
