Cancer Support Foundation is unique

There are many cancer support groups that do many good things. There are some who are extremely visible nationwide. There are those that raise millions of dollars and people might wonder why a cure has not yet been found. And then, there is the Cancer Support Foundation, Inc. (CSFI) in Maryland.

In 2005, Cindy Carter (president) and Nancy Frederick (former president) founded the Cancer Support Foundation. Nancy battled ovarian cancer for 14 years, losing that battle in 2009. Cindy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 and won her battle. These two women knew the rough road cancer patients travel as they experience cancer. They knew and recognized the need for an organization that would assist patients with cancer, and their families, maintain stability in all areas of their lives.

And the Cancer Support Foundation Inc was organized to fulfill the needs of those dealing with cancer!

Cindy will be the first to tell you how horrible the disease can be. She will also tell you what many patients have told her, “I beat the disease but lost my life.” This is true when families are torn apart, lose their homes, their cars, and/or their friends. This is true when cancer results in financial ruin and/or bankruptcy.

And so, the Cancer Support Foundation Inc is a 501(c)3 organization that tries to prevent the tragedies precipitated by cancer!

CSFI hosts a number of fundraisers and asks for donations that will enable the organization to continue to help cancer patients maintain a “normal” life while undergoing treatment that will hopefully result in a positive outcome of survivability.

Visit the CSFI website for specific details of services of some of the multitude of services CSFI, Cindy Carter and a host of volunteers provide to the cancer community in Maryland. Read the testimonials of some very satisfied and relieved cancer patients. Check out upcoming events like the Golf Tournament at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Timonium on August 5 that will be followed by a dinner at Padonia Satation which is open to the public; it will feature a fabulous silent auction. Or, perhaps a little early holiday shopping at 5 Wacky Women gift shop in Cockeysville is more your style. Find very unique gifts to fill your every need, ooh and aah over the various displays, and pick up a copy of my book, “Anna's Journey: How many lives does one person get?” The fundraiser is scheduled for Thursday, September 22 and I will be there to autograph the book. (Not local and can't attend, check my website for the book, available online at Causes and Heroes, Inc.)

To learn more about the Cancer Support Foundation, tune into a new blog-talk-radio show I will be hosting in conjunction with the Perfect World Networker on August 2 to hear how Cindy spends her time, along with many amazing stories about those who have received assistance through CSFI.  Tune in to see what makes CSFI different from all the other cancer support groups in Maryland and around the country.

NOTE: The blog-talk-radio show will be hosted at www.blogtalkradio.com/perfectworldnetworker. My show, “Anna's Journey” will launch on August 2. It will run every Tuesday at 10:00. (We'll have a test run this Tuesday and next as we learn the controls and equipment – especially the mute button!)
