Cancer-Stricken Star Trek Fan Dies At 41

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Daniel Craft (41). As you may recall, Daniel was the Star Trek fan who got a special advanced screening of J.J. Abrams latest Trek movie, Into Darkness, when the director learned about Dan's battle with cancer from some Internet postings.

Craft was not only a sci-fi fan but also a fan of Asian cinema— in fact, Craft was on of the founders of the New York Asian Film Festival and responsible for exposing Jackie Chan, Jet Li and other Asian talents to American audiences.

Craft passed away on Friday, January 4th. My condolences are with the family.
