Legendary Canadian roots artist JIMMY RANKIN has amassed an incredible 9 Canadian music industry award nominations in the last three weeks.
This week, Jimmy was nominated for COUNTRY ALBUM OF THE YEAR at a press conference announcing the nominations for the 2012 JUNO Awards. This is coming off the heels of Rankin’s 8 th SOCAN award, which he graciously accepted at their 22nd Annual awards gala late last year. Although artists like Jimmy Rankin don’t come along every day, he takes it all in stride, remaining sincere and affable about his success. He’s a true blue, long-term career artist who still makes hit music that resonates with fans across the country. Says Rankin, “I’m very fortunate to be able to do what I love – write songs, record and play live – it’s a beautiful way to make a living. Of course, it’s always great to be recognized by the industry.”
Recently, Rankin released the single “The Hurtin’ Part” to Canadian Country radio. The single is already #2 and #5 on BDS Country Music Future charts. A video by JUNO and CCMA award winning videographer Margaret Malandruccolo will be shot in Toronto on February 9 th for release in March.
