Canadian hit-makers Emerson Drive deliver new music to U.S. country radio, fans

The members of Canada's Emerson Drive have a lot to celebrate as of late; namely, a new tour, a new album, and the already-rising success of the band's latest song at American radio, "She's My Kind of Crazy."

The tune, which has accrued 20,000-plus iTunes downloads in under three months, is the brand-new single from "Roll," the quintet's much-welcomed studio album that's the follow-up offering to 2009's "Believe" album.

The "Crazy" song, at this writing, reportedly gets more than 40 spins per week on Sirius XM’s “The Highway,” and collectively, the activity's forced the earlier-than-planned release date of Jan. 22 for "Roll."

"Our fans have been wonderfully loud in asking us for new music here in the U.S.," lead singer Brad Mates shared with Examiner via a Jan. 30 correspondence."We knew 'Crazy' needed to be heard and we've worked hard the last few months to make it available digitally and now to ask our friends at radio to give us a shot."

The11-track "Roll" features music that was penned mostly by the members of Emerson Drive, who co-produced the disc with David Kamulsky. Word has it the new CD highlights the players' growth and maturity via its lyrical content, vocal range and instrumentation, the latter of which has made them a favorite act with country fans.

Prior to "Roll." Emerson Drive found commercial-country radio success with hits such as “I Should Be Sleeping,” “Fall Into Me” and the act's emotional, chart-topping ballad, “Moments,” all of which collected award nods and awards in both the U.S. and Canada.
