Canadian Conservation Institute - Silver Care and Tarnish Removal

See also

I recently came upon a web site that was new to me. The Canadian Conservation Institute offers much information regarding care and preservation of rare and valuable objects. They focus on institutions such as museums and libraries but their notes on the care and cleaning of silver are valuable to anyone owning silver objects:

We've had discussions on this topic before but I like the way the information is presented at the referenced site. The topics are logically segmented to address the various methods used to clean silver. And, I really liked the warnings included in the text that point out dangers of certain types of cleaning.

If you have questions about exactly what tarnish is or if you'd like to learn more details about how silver should be cleaned, cared for and stored, give this page a look.
