Canada will never be a safe haven for zombies

What will the Canadian government do in the event of the zombie apocalypse? The Canadian Parliament addressed and debated exactly that issue and the YouTube video of the debate has stirred quite a bit of interest.

Winnipeg Parliament member Pat Martin brought up the issue of how Canada is preparing for a zombie apocalypse. Martin expressed concern that a zombie apocalypse that strikes the United States could spill over the American-Canadian border since "zombies don't recognize borders" and could become a continent-wide problem if not contained.

Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird answered Martin's concerns by assuring him that he was "dead-i-cated to ensuring" a zombie apocalypse never happens.

Baird went on to declare that "Canada will never be a safe haven for zombies. Ever!" His declaration was met with applause.

The YouTube video of the debate was posted and subsequently watched over 400,000 times. While many may laugh, the United States Centers for Disease Control saw the advantage of using zombies as an effective means for spreading the message about emergency preparedness.

Whether you believe there will be a real zombie apocalypse or not, preparing for any emergency is important and who knows, perhaps our Canadian neighbors know something that we don't know. Maybe making a zombie apocalypse plan is a smart move and it certainly can't hurt.
