According to the Sochi 2014 website, Team Canada has improved to 2-0 in men's hockey competition at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi with a 6-0 triumph over Austria.

Jeff Carter of the Los Angeles Kings came up huge as he scored a natural hat trick in the second period. Meanwhile Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks came up perfect with 24 saves.

Other players who notched a multi-point game for Canada were Patrick Marleau of the San Jose Sharks who registered three assists, Ryan Getzlaf of the Anaheim Ducks with a goal and an assist and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks with two assists. Defensemen Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings and Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators also scored for Canada.

Carter seemed to have great chemistry with Marleau throughout the game. Sometimes they were playing with Crosby, and other times with Toews.

Canada will now play Finland on Sunday for first place in Group B.

The best game of the day came between Switzerland and Sweden. Daniel Alfredsson scored on an outstanding pass from Erik Karlsson in a 1-0 Sweden win. The Swedes however will be without Henrik Zetterberg of the Detroit Red Wings for the rest of the tournament with a back injury.
