According to the Canadian Press, Canadian Olympic bronze medalist and female soccer star Christine Sinclair of Burnaby, British Columbia will be honoured in Toronto on Saturday with a star on Canada's Walk of Fame.
Sinclair, who was instrumental in leading Canada to a bronze medal victory in women's soccer at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, will be one of seven Canadians presented with a star. The others are courageous marathon runner Terry Fox of Winnipeg, Manitoba, jazz pianist Oscar Peterson of Montreal, Quebec, legendary actor Alan Thicke of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, music producer Bob Ezrin of Toronto, Ontario, and brothers Craig and Marc Kielburger of Thornhill, Ontario, who are the co-founders of the charity, Free the Children.
Sinclair has received numerous honours since her dramatic performance at the 2012 Olympic Games. They include being named the 2012 Lou Marsh Award winner for Canada's athlete of the year and the 2012 Bobbie Rosenfeld Award winner as Canada's top female athlete of the year.
