Canadian fans got a special character hosting the Roar of the Rings on TSN. The curling showdown had professional athletes, fans and the Anchorman himself all on television. Ron Burgundy was in booth and helped narrate the actions of the games for over 30 minutes. It was like curling that has never been seen before. Sharing jokes when appropriate and giving people another reason to tune in, there were plenty of surprised fans when the Anchorman character showed up to chat about curling on Sunday in Winnipeg.
This isn't Ron Burgundy’s first gig broadcasting this week. He also took to the air live when he joined a newscast over the weekend and read the local news live in North Dakota. Giving fans a reason to watch the entire newscast, Burgundy proved he isn't just a newsman in the movies as he can actually read a teleprompter and give the news with a little colorful commentary to boot.
Where will Ron Burgundy show up next? Who knows! This idea of being in character as promoting a film has fans delighted. It might be Will Ferrell who plays the character, but for now it is Ron Burgundy calling the shots on and off camera. The fans couldn't be happier!
