According to the Hockey Canada website, Canada defeated the United States 6-3 Thursday evening in Boisbriand, Quebec as the two women's hockey superpowers prepare for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
Rebecca Johnston of Sudbury, Ontario and Hayley Wickenheiser of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan each scored twice. Other Canadian players who registered a multi-point game were Caroline Ouellette of Montreal, Quebec, Jayna Hefford of Kingston, Ontario, and Jocelyne Larocque of Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Ouellette and Hefford each registered a goal and an assist, while Larocque had two assists.
Team Canada is now 2-0 in their six game exhibition series against the United States. Canada beat the United States 3-2 in an aggressive contest Saturday night in Burlington, Vermont.
Canada next plays the United States on December 12 in Calgary. Canada and the United States are expected to be the gold medal contenders at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Team Canada is the three-time defending Olympic champion, while the United States are the reigning world champion.
