I recently posted an ad on Dallas Craigslist to get rid of some old belongings. I received plenty of unsolicited emails back from that ad, but this one in particular stood out:

Google is a real company. It’s one of my very favorite organizations and I would probably sell a body part just to work for them. However, this company is NOT Google! Just because a reputable, authentic company name is in the web address doesn’t make it a website operated by that company.
Grammar. An authentic job offer or job lead isn’t going to look like it came from your 7 year old nephew.
Reality check. If this guy is really making $800 a day, why the heck would he be telling everyone about it?
When in doubt, check it out: You can visit one of the websites listed below to see if other have posted concerns/complaints about a company. And of course, you could also visit your favorite search engine and enter the web address. It should come up with both the website and what others have said about the company that runs the website.
No matter how you decide to do your due diligence, you should always have a buyer beware attitude when something looks too good to be true.
