'Can' you help? Foothills Animal Shelter needs canned dog food

Foothills Animal Shelter has put out a request for donations of canned dog food this holiday season. The shelter is running low. All kinds dog and puppy food are needed.

“If you ‘can’ help, please bring cans of food to the main desk [at the shelter],” says Shelter Volunteer Director, Stephanie Wilde. “We are happy to provide a tax receipt for any donated items, so be sure and ask if you need one.”

Foothills Animal Shelter is located at 580 McIntyre Street in Golden. Just take the Indiana Avenue (Colorado Mills) exit ramp, then head south to the 6th Avenue frontage road that goes past the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. The shelter is closing early on New Year’s Eve, at 2 PM, and will be closed for New Year’s Day. However, the shelter will be open regular hours Thursday and Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.
