Within a few hours, we will embark upon the completion of another year’s journey. 365 days have been days of ups and downs. You have been sick and tired of going through another year of praying, tithing, fasting, being broke, being depressed, being lied to, being mistreated and abused, being lonely, and being disappointed. You have heard what God has done for others. But, you are just wondering when is it your time. You are so ready to give up because you are placed in an uncomfortable place in your life. You have professed it, confessed it, named it and claimed it yet nothing has happened.
I am here to tell you that God has placed you in a place where things are starting to turn around for you. Imagine your life is like a Superbowl game! You are the star quarterback. You have defeated all of your NFC opponents and won the NFC Championship. The media has called your championship a miracle something unexpected. You started with a 4 game losing streak. All of sudden you have won 12 straight games in a row. You are rising above the competition. Some of your team members have become Doubting Thomas’s. But you notice there is one Peter who can deny the thought of achieving the title. Yet, his drive gives him the faith to believe it can happen.
For 365 days, we have allowed Doubting Thomas’s to conquer the very essence of our belief. Sometimes it makes you feel that it's better to walk away from God. You may even struggle with going back to the way you use to be. But you can't turn back when he has brought you this far. You have to understand that he will never leave you nor forsake you.
This year I have had to struggle with some things. There were days when I felt like John the Baptist when Jesus didn't come see about him and he kept blessing others. There were days when I felt like Peter when he denied Jesus three times. I was denied to fulfill my destiny. There were days when I felt like Esther fighting for my people. There were days when I felt like Job when I didn't want to let go but kept on pressing. There were days when I felt like Mary the Mother of Jesus asking God why I was chosen for this assignment. There were days when I felt like David and Goliath. I had to take down some giants in my life.
But mama, daddy, grandma, grandpa, big momma, missionaries, evangelist, pastor, deacons, deaconess and Sunday School teachers said there will be Days like this. You just can't give up the fight.
You are in the last quarter of the game. You have one minute to make a touchdown. God is saying to you. I know it may have seemed dark some days. You started off rough but you are going to finish on top. Just wait and be encouraged!! You come a long way from where you were. Your prayers were heard but not answered in your time. But God heard and seen everything that you were going through. It's your time in 2013 to receive the things that you have been praying; fasting and believing will come to reality. I know some things were not yet realize but just know a delayed is not a denial. You have made the touchdown and have won the championship. So you Can't Give Up Now!!
