Can Sandra Bullock pull a trifecta?

The nominees for this years Academy Awards show will be announced Tuesday morning Feb 2nd. Should Sandra Bullock receive a nomination for Best Actress for her role in The Blind Side and then go on to win the category she will have done what very few ladies have done in the past; win three of the coveted actor statues. Earlier this year Bullock won both the Golden Globe and SAG (Screen Actors Guild) award for her on screen portrayal of real life Good Samaritan, Leigh Anne Touhy. A role that was off the normal comedy path she usually travels.




Since its inception in 1995 only 4 women have won all three trophies for the same role and all 4 were in the 2000's. If Sandra's name is called she will join the likes of Julia Roberts (2000/Erin Brockovich), Charlize Theron (2003/Monster), Hilary Swank (2004/Million Dollar baby) and Helen Mirren (2006/The Queen).




What is interesting is that 3 of the 4 winning roles were based on real life women. If this bodes well for Sandra Bullock she will be in the front runner for that coveted Oscar statue.
