Can it get any lower?

I just had the privilege of seeing the latest masquerade that is pretending to be talent called Miley Cyrus in the midst of a porn video that pretends to be a music video. I would add a link to the video but honestly I would hope my readers would have a little more class and taste than that.

Now I will say right up front music itself is worthless these days as anyone who is willing to act like a porn star can be a pop star. That's obvious. Singing in key doesn't matter because of the electronics available these days. And so long as people don't simply say this is garbage and stop listening, which they won't so long as young girls continue to flaunt their body's because they have no talent, there will be no demand for quality from the public.

I suspect there is a goal to see just how far someone will go in a quest for money. It used to be that there was a guideline for that which would be acceptable to the public. But now there is no moral compass and as such there is nothing that anyone won't do if it means money. Oh wait. Yes there is. You can't be politically incorrect. So it's okay to strip and act like a twelve dollar hooker but it's not okay to simply express an opinion about anything that might offend someone or some group.

Well, for me, all of the so called music industry offends me personally. Why is it they aren't sensitive to people like myself who think that a woman should be treated with respect and dignity not allowed to portray herself in a manner that no father would ever wish to see his daughter. I think at some point someone has to decide that people deserve better and that it's the music that matters. In the pre-video era, people listened to music. They didn't know, in many cases, what the singers even looked like let alone saw them just about naked. How did they manage to sell millions of records? The answer is obvious. Talent. You have a quality song, it doesn't need anything more than a voice and a guitar to be a hit. Do you think the Beatles song "Yesterday" could have sold more copies with a sexy video?

Actually I shouldn't be surprised by any of this. Here I take time to write words and yet the internet isn't a source of reading but a source of watching to most. The desire to put a bunch of pictures, videos, slideshows or who knows what with an article is hardly of interest to me. I'm not writing because I will get more money from it. I'm expressing a thought. I want people to read the thought and perhaps think. And so I give you my words. However, I suspect that words themselves have no meaning unless there is something to supplement them. But I will not stoop to such things. I will just continue to write thoughts and allow you to make your own interpretations.
