Jack is back on FOX this summer with 24: Live Another Day with Kiefer Sutherland -- so will this limited series spark renewed interest in finally bringing 24 to the big screen?
Originally, the film was supposed to pick up where the real-time series left off, but budgetary concerns, salary negotiations, and scheduling conflicts (at the time, Sutherland was working on Touch, which was canceled last year after two seasons) led the project to be put on indefinite hold.
However, with 24: Live Another Day set to debut in less than four months, could this mean the film is back on?
"The script for the film is very different" Sutherland stated last week at FOX's Television Critics Association winter previews. "The film is an ongoing situation. There's always an opportunity to do that."
24: Live Another Day is a 12-episode event that finds Jack Bauer, the action hero for the 9/11 generation, living in exile as a fugitive for the past several years after his final "Day", where his controversial actions in New York led him to become wanted by both the U.S. and Russian governments.
The series reunites Sutherland with Mary Lynn Rajskub as fan favorite Chloe, William Devane as James Heller and Kim Raver as his daughter -- and Jack's former love -- Audrey.
Law & Order alumni Benjamin Bratt and Chuck's Yvonne Strahovski also stars as CIA agents leading the hunt for Jack in London.
24: Live Another Day premieres Monday, May 5 at 8pm on FOX.
