Campbell Soup Co. has issued a voluntary recall of 300 cases of its 24-oz jars of Prego Traditional Italian sauce due to “possible spoilage.”

The Prego Sauce was made at the Campbell Soup Supply Company plant in Paris, TX and shipped on December 21, 2013 to retailer distribution centers in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, and Arizona.

Consumers who bought the jars, marked by having a best by date of June 16, 2015 "and a four-digit, military time code ranging from 'CT BJ ZV 0330' through 'CT BJ ZV 0449" printed on the lid of the product are warned not to eat the sauce, although no illnesses have yet been reported. They are also encouraged to bring it back to place of purchase for a full refund. For more information you can also call Campbell Soup Co.’s headquarters in Camden, New Jersey direct at 866 270-9303 Mon.-Fri. 9am-7pm EST.
