Campaign...My Year In Pictures

Mark Twain wrote; “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

I first read this passage close to 40 years ago, and now, after  38 years of exploring,  I can surely say that I am glad I took his advise.

For all of those years I have been involved in the air freight industry, and now find myself in the best of situations, surrounded by many good colleagues, associates and clients; all of who I count as friends and who reside at all corners of the planet.

It is good, in fact very good, to be able to put those many years of work and experience with an organization that respects your contributions and understand the need for growth and development. It has been a good Campaign.

Based at Los Angeles, California, this year, my travel was wholly within these American States and Territories. Some of the places that I have been to, (more or less in the order that I remember),  New York, Philadelphia, Houston, Boston, Chicago, Newark, San Juan, Miami, Charlotte, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, and Las Vegas. I visited many of these cities several times, such as San Juan (3), New York (4), Portland and Seattle(3), and so on. Most of the travel has been by air, but I have logged close to 10,000 miles via automobile; primarily to and from San Francisco(5), Central California and Las Vegas(4).

In fact I began my year in Las Vegas, filming a segment on the History Channel’s; Pawn Stars, which was a wonderful experience. I will end the year exploring the Hawaiian Islands, and developing new opportunities there.

Always at my side was my trusty digital camera, and while I explored these regions, I tried to remember it in pictures, and subsequently saved about 300 images of theroad.

When I am not writing, I read quite a bit, and I tried to come up with titles and quotes that reminded me of these images. Along with a few thoughts, I have included those here.
