Camp Pocono Trails encourages kids to get healthy and stay healthy

Childhood obesity has more than doubled over the last three decades. Obesity in childhood create a higher risk level for diseases later in life, such as cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure or diabetes to name a few. Healthy eating habits and physical activity can lower obesity rates as well as the risk of related diseases.

Children eager to live a healthier lifestyle, lose weight, and build self-esteem while having fun are invited to participate in the “Imagine Me! I'm Up for the Challenge: 6th Annual New Image Camp Essay Contest“ hosted by Camp Pocono Trails. Kids, ages 10-17, will have the opportunity to win a nine-week campership at Camp Pocono Trails in Reeders, PA. The camp is one of the only ACA accredited weight loss camps in the country. The retail prize value of a nine-week campership is $11,500. Entries for the summer of 2013 are now being accepted.
