The actress who played the daughter of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara in the classic movie Gone With the Wind, Cammie King Conlon, died Wednesday at her home in Fort Bragg, California. Those close to the family say the actress died of lung cancer. She was 76.
Conlon was only 4-years-old when she earned the part of Bonnie Blue Butler in the 1939 Civil War based film. Bonnie Butler tragically dies in the film, after falling from a pony, which was the demise of Scarlett and Rhett's marriage.
The only other film Conlon worked on was Disney's 1942 classic animated movie Bambi, where she was the voice of the young doe Faline.
Conlon leaves behind her son Matthew Ned Conlon and a daughter, Katie Conlon Byrne. Memorial services are scheduled to next week in Fort Bragg, on September 22 in Los Angeles and a second one in Marietta, Georgia.
