Cameroon: A total of 28 endangered forest elephants killed by poachers

A new report has been published in the media on March 13 and it is generating a high amount of headlines. Sad news is being revealed that a total of twenty-eight endangered forest elephants have been killed in Cameroon due to poaching. A rep for WWF made a statement, discussing what took place.

As Global Post writes in a new report today, Zacharie Nzooh a rep for WWF (World Wildlife Fund) said of what has happened:

"The poachers used automatic weapons, such as AK-47s, reflecting the violent character of elephant poaching."

The news is indeed saddening, and sobering as well. The killing of the elephants mentioned in the new report has taken place over a few weeks. The elephants have been killed for their beautiful ivory tusks, and it is something that has been generating headlines for quite a while and much outrage as well. The elephants are endangered due to the various poaching that has taken place over the past few years.
