Cameron Mitchell Restaurants opens 'The Pearl' in Columbus, Ohio (Photos)

The first concept in five years from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants opened it's doors yesterday in the Short North Arts District of Columbus, Ohio.

The Pearl restaurant, tavern and oyster room, is an upscale gastropub with a chef-driven menu featuring local and organic comfort ingredients, with executive chef Peter Chapman and manager Amberlyn Heiney at the helm.

"I am very excited about this new concept. I really enjoy the creation of something new, and there's a lot to be said about the focus that is crafted for just one brand," said restaurateur Cameron Mitchell.

The menu blends American and European influences in made-from-scratch snacks, starters, hot and cold oyster preparations, entrees and pies. Special attention is given to the beverage program as each associate is a Certified Cicerone® who has developed a keen level of understanding and expertise in selecting, acquiring and serving beer.

On weekdays in The Pearls tavern patrons can enjoy happy hour from 4-6PM and enjoy half off snacks & draughts as well as $1.00 brown bag beers.

Reservations can made right from The Pearls website making your dining experience less of a hassle.

The Pearl's vintage design and early-20th-century-influenced architecture create a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere. Exposed white brick, original hardwood floors, oversized iron beams, mirrors and windows complete the urban ambiance.

"Part of our company culture is to be better today than we were yesterday and better tomorrow than we were today; I know our guests will see those values come to life at The Pearl," said Mitchell.

The Pearl is located at 641 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, opening for dinner nightly at 4 p.m. Weekend brunch begins Saturday, March 9. For more information, visit www.ThePearlColumbus.com or call 614.227.0151.
